Aim. To study a modern assortment of a glucose meter presented on the domestic market, to make a commercial assessment, to examine their destination, design features, working principles, consumer properties.
Materials and methods. Information, based on research of scientific publications, materials of Internet resources and own conclusions.
Results. According to the results of the studies, the authors give brief aspects regarding the modern assortment of glucometers, their type, destination, structural elements, equipment (glucometer, test strips, scarifiers, lancets, calibration solution, etc.), operating principle and stages of commodity analysis. It was established that this device is most represented by foreign manufacturers in the Ukrainian market. A commercial assessment of glucometers will allow pharmacists to provide professional advice on choosing a device, application and storage features. Because of the annual growth of number of patients with diabetes mellitus, the commercial assessment of glucometers is an urgent topic that must be constantly studied. This allows modern pharmacists to perfectly master the information on glucometers and convey it to consumers.
Conclusions. Knowledge of the assortment, principles of work, conducting of commodity analysis of glucometers is the basis for consumers obtaining of high-quality and affordable devices.
