The prevalence of rheumatic diseases is steadily increasing, in the level of their negative impact on modern society, they rank the 2 nd place after diseases of the blood circulation system. They affect the national economy, lead to significant costs of treatment and reduce the quality of life of patients. Their negative social impact is also caused by the affection of all age groups of the population, the tendency to chronization and steady progression of the pathological process, which leads to the decrease in capacity, physical, mental and social maladaptation, and as a result, to early and rapid disability.
Aim. To carry out an experimental support for the technology of gel basis producing and its completing with solubilizers, salicylate, sage herb extract and willow bark. Materials and methods. The development of combined gel technology was based on the physico-chemical and technological properties of its ingredients. The basic principle of the technology was to obtain the basis of gel – solution of hydroxyethyl cellulose, which was mixed with a concentrated total aqueous solution of dry extracts of white willow leaves, medicinal sage leaves and preservative nipagine. The technological parameters are determined and the technological scheme of production of the combined gel is composed.
Results. The developed herbal drug in the form of gel shows the complex effect due to the combined composition. Drugs based on plant raw material rarely cause side effects, can be used for a long time and with associated pathologies, in the form of monotherapy, as well as in combinations with synthetic drugs, in particular, with the possibility of reducing their therapeutic dose.
Conclusions. The developed combined gel for the treatment of acute and chronic inflammatory diseases of the joints is a thixotropic plastic system capable of squeezing out tubes and providing the necessary stability in the process of technological operations. The critical stages and critical parameters of the technological process, which are directly controlled or related to the control of the production of the developed combined gel, were determined.
