Global presence of low levels of medicines in wastewater, surface water and groundwater is confirmed by recent investigations. Issues about the possible risks and consequences of pharmaceutical pollutants for the environment and human require an evaluation of the presence of medical substances in surface waters in Ukraine and, if necessary, their inclusion in area of chemical security. Based on the analysis of medicines consumption their predicted environmental concentration (PEC) was calculated; priority pollutants of surface waters in Ukraine was determined among the antibiotics, hypoglycemic agents and analgesics.References
